Kenny Chesney Baby!

This was such an awesome concert! We seriously had such a blast... and the best part was (no offense Savy and Kade) that we were without kids! DATE NIGHT!!! Plus they were free tickets. Doesn't get much better than that! And I must say... Kenny is kinda cute! As Savanna would say "cute lil' bum bum"!!! Josh was just a little jealous ;) But I love you babe... thanks for a fun night!

Draper Days

We love Draper Days. Parade... candy... family.... fun! The Mitchell side has always been BIG time fans of Draper Days and they make an entire day out of it. Always starts with the Parade. We had GREAT seats this year thanks to Jim and Kaye! Right in the shade :) Savanna loved the floats and candy she got. She has lots of cousins to show her the "what to do" and "what not to do". Lots of fun. Then we head over for some yummy food and Uncle Clyde and Aunt Connies house. They always have all these fun blowup water slides that the kids never want to leave. It is nice for the adults to be able to visit while the kids are occupied having fun! And they food is always sooooo good! That is followed by fun times at the park. I thought Draper did a good job this year with all the booths and the entertainment. It really was fun!We finish off the big day off with the fireworks. At first, Savanna was VERY scared 0f the fireworks, but once she saw how "pretty" they could be, she was fine! Lots of fun!

Zoo

Savanna has always loved animals so I thought it would be great to take her to the zoo. I haven't been to the zoo in seriously 20 years so I secretly was looking forward to it too! It sure has changed over the years! Anywho, we all had a blast! And Josh, thanks for working so hard so we can go do all these fun things... love you babe!

4 moths old

I swear I just did a 3 month post for Makade... is he really already 4 months?!? He is getting so big... and by big, I mean BIG! My little chunk weighed in at a whooping 15 pounds. Yup that's right, he truly is a chunk. Savanna has always been so little that this is very new to me... he is already in 6 moths clothes. Just more of him to love... more to kiss... and more to play with! Makade is getting such a fun personality and really coming out of his little shell. There is no doubt mommy is still his very favorite and then Daddy and Savy both tie for a close 2nd! He sleeps great in his own bedroom and usually wakes up 1 time a night... although he wakes up at a very early 6am ready to rock and roll! I have a bib on him 24-7 because ht still spits up so much. But, I figure a bib is much easier to change 5 times a day than an outfit! He is such a great, easy going little baby. We love our Kader Baders!

Cowabung Bay Baby

So while my sisters family was here, Jaxon turned 10! YAY! We went to Cowabunga Bay for his big day and had a blast. I must say, that water park is great. It is big, but not too big that you lose people, close and convenient. Savanna even loved it. We rented a cabana and just relaxed there all day. Kids played, adults chatted and I got some nice sun rays on my very white body! Poor Makade was sooo hot but he loved being outside! I would highly recommend it to a family that wants some quick fun in the sun! Happy Big 10 Jaxon! (Savanna is such a girl... I think she changed her swimsuit 3 times!)
Oaklee and Savy anxiously waiting to go!
Apparently the water was a little cold... can u see it on her face!

Happy bday Jaxon!!!

Makade Blessing

This was such a wonderful wonderful day! My sweet little baby boy being blessed... and I must say he looked so handsome and GQ in his little white outfit! Josh did such an awesome job and I feel so incredibly blessed to be married to an amazing husband who is a worthy priesthood holder. We decided to keep the blessing very simple and private so we did it at our home with just family and I am so glad we did! And again, it was so nice to have my sister and her family here. We purposely waited for them to be in town so they could be a part of such a special day. Thanks to everyone for helping with the yummy food after and just coming and sharing in the wonderful day with us! PS all photos are courtesy of my sweet nephew Jaxon. He took my camera and just went to town taking these pictures... thanks Jax!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

I feel so grateful that I have been able to go to 2 open houses for 2 different temples all within the last 6 months. These are such beautiful buildings and I love going and exploring them. Savanna, of course, was in 7th heaven being able to "go inside" another temple. It was so cute to watch her face light up with fascination and excitement. It will be so fun to share these experiences with her and Makade when they are older and truly understand the importance of temples. I was sad Josh had to work... which these days is nothing new. But luckily, my sister and her family were here from Tennessee and could share in the fun with us.

Potty Training 101

Okay, so I really didn't mean to slack off so much on my blog, but apparently, the whole "slacking" thing can really sneak up on you! The last month has been craaaazy busy and I have a lot to catch up on! There will be several posts soon to come... so be prepared :) Now on with the good stuff! Savanna is officially potty trained! YEAH!! YEAH!! YEAH!! It first started with her wanting a bike. I told her once she went "pee pee on her potty" she could get one. That day, she went and looked at me and said, "there ya go now I get my bike!" She was a lot smarter than me... I never said potty trained I only said "pee pee on her potty". Well, of course after she got her bike she had no desire to go on the potty again. So after a week of battling it out with her, I took her to Dollar Tree, let her pick like 15 items that she wanted and did a "Savannas Potty Basket". I made it look all cute and set it out where she could see it and want it and admire all the fun things and I tell you what.... it worked! She got almost all 15 items in one day she went so much. It was exhausting and I must say, potty training has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I've decided it is way easier to just change a diaper than have a child that has to pee every 5 minutes. And Savy had some issues with the whole pooping thing. She was so nervous to poop on the potty that she seriously held it in for like 5 days. Needless to say we finally figured it out and things are going much smoother now. My little girl is all grown up and now looks at her little brother like "what's your problem... I got it down now it's your turn"! So glad she is doing well and I have some time to prepare for the next one! Way to go Savanna... mommy and daddy are so proud of you!
