Ugh... knee surgery!

And that is seriously the best title I could think of... besides KNEE SURGERY SUCKS... I thought that was a bit harsh! Josh was in surgery for a little over 2 hours. He had completely shredded his acl and torn his meniscus. It was, needless to say, a pretty major surgery. They graft an cadavers achilles tendon for his acl (amazing what meidcal technology can do these days) and then screwed the new tendon into the bones. Those screws will become a part of his bone and the tendon will become his new acl. He is doing really well, considering! He is in A LOT of pain but is a tough old mad (I can say that because he is 2 years older than me)! He is in a very uncomfortable brace that goes from his ankle to the top of his thigh. He will be in this for a few more weeks then he will get his acl brace which he will be in for quite a while! Hopefully in the next 5 months he will have a full 100% recovery! YAY... until then I continue to wait on him hand and foot and do everything I would normally do plus all the things he would do. That was my brief moment to feel sorry for myself. I will move on now! I am ready for him to be better... he is ready for him to be better... and everyone I ask to come help me for a second is ready for him to be better! Love you honey!

Spoke TOO soon...

So, you know how I said Josh wasn't working on any projects right now, but I'm sure one will be coming soon... it came TOO soon! Josh has to have surgery on his knee next week :( He tore all his ligaments on the inside of his knee and partially tore his acl. Seriously?!? Thank heavens we have insurance! You never know how much you depend on someone until they are down and out! I keep turning to Josh and saying "honey, could you grab"... or "could you help me"... and then I realize I'm on my own! Here's to yucky knee surgery!

Happy 30th Birthday Josh

Okay okay, I know I am WAY behind on this, but it really has been so crazy the last few months that I have not even posted my sweet husbands 30th birthday party! His birthday was in November, but better late than never... I thought I would pay tribute to the most amazing and important man in my life and him reaching the 30 year marker. In thinking about what I could do for him, I knew I had to do something BIG and make a fuss because he is always so private and shy about events such as this. So I decided the best way to do that would be to surprise him with a party where a few of his closest friends and family could share in this special day too! It turned out SOOOOO great and the best part was he never suspected a thing! He was so caught off guard and surprised... it was GREAT! We had a nice dinner and conversation with many important people in his life! I also decided the best way to embarrass him would be to do a "roast" in his honor (and horror) which was not a let down. There were great stories shared and funny memories reminisced on and everyone did great. But I must say, hands down, his friend Chris did the most amazing job. His roast included hand outs with pictures he had created... it was hilarious. Hopefully I can post it and you can all share in the laugh that we had! I think everyone there learned something new about Josh that night. :) All in all it was a very fun night and a great birthday for my sweet hubby! Josh, I love you more than life and I am so grateful to be married to such an amazing husband and father. We have shared A LOT of memories together and I look forward to the many many many more to come! Happy 30th Birthday BABE!

I also included my little Savanna in on the cake... we didn't do a family party for her birthday because I was doing this. She was so proud to have everyone sing to her too and she LOVED the cake!

Josh

Josh is very busy working hard for Kimball Property Maintenance. He made this career switch the end of January and is loving it. He is the Production Manager and is over the entire maintenance division. He really enjoys working with Spanish speaking men and is learning the language fast! He comes home with some new word (not always good) every day! He is also very busy remodeling our house. His latest project has been our master bathroom. I left for Tennessee for 1 week and came back to the bathroom being completely ripped out. He built me a brand new... much bigger... shower and tiled the entire room. New cabinets, counters, sink, fixtures... the whole 9 yards. It looks amazing and I love it! I have never met someone who can serioulsy do anything and it just amazes me!
